flying to Yugoslavia!

In the end of this year I am going to ex-Yogoslavia. I have already bought a flight ticket to Bulgarian capital Sofia. The flight carrier is aeroflot. I thoght that the fuel surcharge is cheaper than others. Because Russia is big oil exporter, so they have a large amount of oil. In my case fuel surcharge costed 12000yen (80Euro). It was very affordable price. I decided to visit Yugoslavia in October. There has been two difficulties of me. The First is whether I could get a flight ticket, the second is whether I could take a holiday. The first difficulty has been cleared. The second difficulty must need to my strong will.

Dalmatia and Dalmatian Dog

I have bought a guide book of Croatia : Lonely Planet Croatia.
2 years ago I travelled Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal. Next time I really want to visit Croatia, if possible on this new year holiday! But There is few Japanese book about Croatia, I had no choice but purchasing English Lonely Planet on Amazon.

Reading brief history of Croatia, I have found an interesting trivia about Croatia. Dalmatian dogs, famous of One Hundred and One Dalmatians, the name derives from Dalmatian region of Croatia. But according to the book, the origin of the breed are not certain, but the dogs may have been brought into Dalmatia by the Roma and used to guard the Dalmatian boarder.
I did not know the origin of the name Dalmatinan dogs till I read this book.


Few years ago , Apple Computer had sold Blue Dalmatian iMac. But it was unpopular, then it disappeared.

Hotel Rwanda

Last weekend I watched a film Hotel Rwanda.
This is a film that we must watch. A hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina saved 1200 people while the worst atrocities had occured in 1994. Totally a million people were brutally murdered. This was a genocide but United Nations had refused to intervene. Why did NOT international community stop the genocide.

I think he is Oscar Schindler of the end of century. His courage, conscience and actions must be praised and are precious for human being.

A film is always dramatized because the story have to be put within 2 hours. When I watched the film, I would like to know about him. Then I have ordered his autobiography on Amazon.

starting german class

Today summer intensive class has started in Goethe institute.
I take a stil class which excersies oral and writing expressions. My teacher is a calm and having tension man that is my typical german image. The class room is often in silence and sometimes his exaggerated gesture makes us laugh. This german class is my third term class. For the first time the teacher is man. previous teachers were woman. Women teachers provided us passionate class. But this time the man provides being self-posseded class. The class makes me fresh. I enjoy learning german in the class.
